Wates Construction

Jarvis & Womack have carried out roofing works for Wates Construction on a variety of projects, ranging from schools specialising in care for emotionally-disturbed children to environmentally sensitive housing and incorporating a variety of different roof coverings.

Information about the project

The most recent project undertaken was to provide roof tiling to the development of 71 properties in Canklow, Rotherham. The scheme is being developed for South Yorkshire Housing Association and incorporates the use of solar panels to provide hot water on every dwelling. Clad in Forticrete Gemini concrete roof tiles, the development represents twelve months of work, which were completed with zero defects. 

This project was subsequent to a similar scheme in Primrose Hill, Huddersfield, which was awarded the Judges’ Commendation for Regeneration in the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Yorkshire White Rose Awards 2007.
