About Jarvis & Womack Ltd

Jarvis and Womack Ltd are roofing specialists to the construction industry, established in 1870 by its founders Mr Jarvis and Mr Womack, based at a yard in James Street, Rotherham.

In 1903 Jarvis left the partnership leaving Womack to build a flourishing legacy for the future generations of his family, incorporating the firm as a limited company in 1926.
Now in its fourth generation, under the directorship of Mark Mitchell and his brother, Womack's great grandsons continue to enjoy an enviable reputation within the roofing industry for true professionalism, award-winning quality and superior roofing.

Due to continued growth, 1986 saw the company relocate from its original premises in Rotherham to offices in Swinton, South Yorkshire. The new premises became the base for a programme of continued growth and development, culminating in a recent relocation to purpose built offices on the Manvers industrial park, which will enable us to continue providing the best service from our team of specialists within their field.

In 1997, Jarvis and Womack Ltd were the first and only Roofing Contractors in South Yorkshire to achieve accreditation by the CQA Ltd to BS EN ISO 9002 and have maintained and developed their quality management system to the new ISO9001:2008 Standard. Since then, they have achieved accreditation under the OHSAS 18001 standard for Health and Safety Management and gained CHAS registration.

The core strengths of Jarvis and Womack are for new build projects for the Construction Industry, using traditional craftsmen skills for Tiling, Slating and Random Slating on both large scale and smaller projects.

Current and recently completed projects include the Ridge Medical Centre for ISG plc, the Firth Wing and Clock Tower Building at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield, private housing developments for Taylor Wimpey, Bovis Homes and Southdale Homes, a newbuild Fair Play Children's Centre in Chesterfield for The Radleigh Group Limited, The Whitworth Centre in Darley Dale for Bodill Construction Ltd and a the re-roofing of Hamby's, a Grade 2 Listed department store in the centre of Rotherham. Other completed projects include the Army Foundation College Harrogate for Jarvis Construction and the MoD, Kirkstall Abbey Leeds for Laing Northern and Sheffield Railway Station for C Spencer Ltd.

Projects for listed and other heritage properties are also undertaken. As an approved roofing contractor to English Heritage, churches, town halls and English Heritage building roofs have been completed.

Jarvis and Womack Ltd are approved by the leading tile and slate suppliers such as Penhryn Slate, Redland, Marley Eternit, Sandtoft, Cemex (Russell) and Decra Roof Systems. We are fully conversant with various specialist materials such as Cumbrian and stone slate and have recently gained accreditation to fit Sarnafil single ply roofing membranes.
